💬About Me
I'm Marco — a South African developer from Durban who started out as a carpenter. I built furniture before I built software, and that background shaped how I think: systems should be solid, reliable, and built to last.
Self-taught from the ground up, I spent 3+ years at Decidio working on production systems for the Truendo platform — building backend APIs, client-facing SDKs, and deploying services across cloud infrastructure.
My work included Kubernetes deployments, CDN migrations, database optimisation, and delivering solutions used by enterprise clients. I focus on building systems that perform under real-world conditions, not just in theory.
Currently in transition and open to new opportunities where I can contribute to meaningful systems and continue growing as an engineer.
Built and maintained a production-grade consent management platform (CMP), delivering backend APIs, client-facing SDKs, and full-stack features used by enterprise clients.
Worked across infrastructure and application layers — deploying services on Kubernetes, managing CI/CD pipelines, and contributing to system performance, scalability, and reliability.
Hands-on daily with TypeScript, Go, Docker, and React in a live production environment.
